This Blog is a Dahn Yoga practitioners community site, containing contributions and observations of Dahn Yoga practitioners. Dahn Yoga classes combine stretching, flowing movement, deep breathing exercises, meditation, Tai Chi and Qi Gong in a simple and easy to learn format that is suitable for all ages, body types and physical conditions.
Dahn Yoga is a dynamic mind-body practice created by Ilchi Lee in 1980, based on Korean traditional wisdom, including the rich history of Sun Do (Korean Taoism). The principles of Dahn Yoga are informed by the wisdom of the Chun Bu Kyung, a 9,000 year old text expounding the essential truths about “Ki” or energy. “Dahn” means energy and the practice is intended to help people balance the flow of energy in their bodies for improved physical, mental and spiritual health. Ilchi Lee has combined these ancient principles with a modern understanding of the brain and its role in personal development and self-healing.
In the United States, Dahn Yoga classes are offered at Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., Body & Brain Holistic Fitness centers and other affiliate and community-based locations.
