From August 16th to August 22nd, there was a week-long children¡¯s BR camp and HSP camp held in Chicago. In Chicago, there were two projects planned and carried out to prepare for Dr. Ilchi Lee¡¯s BR lecture to the public, which will be held at the end of September.
The first event was the Healing Festival that took place at the beginning of August, and the second one was this BR HSP children¡¯s camp.
The HSP camp that took place this time has great significance, as it was the first camp held exclusively for American children living in the U.S. from each area.
Thirty four children attended the BR camp and twenty four attended HSP camp. The camp was advertised in the ¡°Chicago Parents¡± magazine to recruit American children and in the Korea Times as well aimed at recruiting Koreans.
It was reported that eleven of these participants applied after seeing advertisements. Moreover, twice as many Koreans applied after seeing public advertisements as there were for those who had seen Dahn Center advertisements.
After the birth of the first BR instructor in the Chicago region in February, all the centers in Chicago started to offer classes specifically for children since this March. The centers have been bustling with activities including leading Dahn training outside of the centers.
Many BR instructors assisted at the camps and gained confidence in teaching BR.
It truly was a momentous occasion both because it was a scene of education, but also because the competent instructors were there to contribute.
The 1st step of the HSP camp includes the aim of being able to recognize the lightness and darkness of black and white.
During the last two days of the camp when they did HSP, their recognition percentage increased from 63% to 76% after the end of the camp. Ten children out of the twenty-four participants showed outstanding ability and will be individually supervised.
Following is a parent¡¯s comments on the changes in her child after returning from BR camp
¡°My son, Max just finished the five day BR camp. He had always had difficulties concentrating and found his studies to be challenging. He didn¡¯t like reading and was always quite upset when he encountered new words. However, after the five day BR camp, he came home and started to read a book multiple times. Then, he read another one. My child has never voluntarily sought to read a book before. This is like a miracle.
I am grateful to Dahn Hak and BR, which provided my son with the peace of mind necessary to lead a successful life."
Can you imagine how this parent feels when she uses the word ¡°miracle¡± to describe the change in her son? This is precisely BR¡¯s surprising power.
